Slow Grilled Beer Brats
Ingredients:
- 3 Packages of Johnsonville Brats (regular) {Check for Johnsonville Coupons}
- Large Yellow Onion
- 6 Pack of Guinness
- Salt & Pepper
- Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Directions:
- Heat grill to the lowest temperature you can maintain heat with. We set our grill to 300 degrees.
- Split 3 packages of sausages into two metal trays.
- Slice onion and split between the two trays.
- Pour 3 cans of Guinness into each tray
- Sprinkle in dashes of salt, pepper and optional cayenne pepper.
- Mix well.
- Place on grill and cook at 300 degrees for 3 -4 hours.
- Note: You will need to make sure that you’re stirring every so often. Don’t let the sausages sit uncovered for too long at any point or they will dry out and by doing this it will ensure that they are soaking in the beer flavors and cooking constantly throughout.
- When ready to eat, take out the trays out of the grill and set to side.
- Heat grill up to about 400 degrees.
- Use tongs and remove the sausages and place them on grill. Leave on each side for approximately 30 seconds to make char marks on the sausage and caramelize the beer into the brat.
- Serve plain or with bun and toppings!

Hey everyone! My name is Lisa and I'm 28 years old living in Western New York. I really only started couponing in October 2011 when I was on unemployment. I was always frugal with my money, but I never really knew how much money I could save just by using coupons and learning to pair them with sales to maximize savings. I started blogging to help others learn to coupon, live frugal, and find the best deals in order to save as much money in their wallet as I can.
